there are so many supporters that come out to cheer you on. Every block is something new to keep you going.... ....42 bands alone this year! |

 There are bands in front of beautiful beach houses.... |

 .... and those that give "being on the road" another meaning... |

The Bay to Breakers is the largest foot race in the world. I've run the Bay to Breakers several times... here's some pictures of some of the years. The distance is 7.47 miles and there are many serious runners. The fun comes with the not so serious runners, the atmosphere, the costumes and in some cases the lack of costumes. There are usually 80,000 registered runners and who knows how many others..... some years they have estimated as many as 100,000 in attendance. Visit the Bay to Breakers web for more pictures. |
