| Clark Air Force Base was located on the NW side of Angeles City, 40 miles NW of Metro Manila on the Philippine Island of Luzon in South East Asia.
Clark was the largest US military facility overseas and during the Viet Nam War it was full of people, activity and energy This was one of the FEW regular routes we had. It was Honolulu 1 day, stop in Guam, 3 days Philippines, stop in Guam, Honolulu 1 day, stop in Guam, Philippines 4 days, stop in Guam, Honolulu 1 day - then on home.

| Flying to the Philippines was a very senior
trip. We were taking MAC (military) flights there often.
Staying at the Hotel Oasis was like going to a spa with $.40 manicures and pedicures next door. Each room came with your own gecko and after you saw the huge roaches you appreciated the geckos.

Shopping was also good in the Philippines. Angeles City was next to the base full of shops. We carried home tons of monkey pod, art work, shells, hand crochet pieces & "stuff". Here we are with all our Philippino trash to carry home - checking in at operations Clark AFB Philippine Island - our last round to Honolulu this trip. |
