Tempo

Tempo went to Winter Park, FL to live with Puppy Raiser Diesta, her three children and their Shepard-Lab mix.

Diesta had Tempo on "The Cowboy Bob and Buster Show" and the front page of their public school's web page.  They  had a lot of fun and went everywhere together from the Orlando Magic game to Beauty and the Beast at the Civic Theater.

March of 2000,  Tempo went skiing in Utah.... isn't this a great picture?  I bet the snow was quite a shock to this California/Florida boy.

Diesta says "Tempo has a wonderful disposition and  isn't afraid of anything".   They also went to  to Iowa and Illinois, she says he travels really well and  he's better behaved than most people

Tempo made the local paper for the opening of the training center  in Orlando.  He is quite the celebrity there in Orlando!

Tempo was turned in August 2000,  Diesta admitted she cried for two days,  apparently Tempo was going through the same thing  because six days later CCI called her to say  that he was being released since he was too emotional and homesick.   She wasted no time and  flew right up and brought him home, to become as she says "his PERMANENT MOM".

Diesta and Tempo are working to become a therapy dog with children.  He still spends everyday at school with her where she volunteers.  The staff even gave him a school shirt and he's just one of them. She says "he's a true bright spot in many people's lives".  Not the ending that was planned but a great one none the less....

Tempo our patriot puppy '01.  He won
2nd place out of 40 dogs in a costume contest.  He was also the lead-in for a local TV promo!! Tempo likes his change of career.

TEMPO Christmas 2002
Are you sure this is the way it's suppose to fit?

Tempo  working with Diesta at the elementary school as a R.E.A.D. dog. (reading education assistance dog)  Children with reading disabilities earn the chance to read  aloud to him........

......These are kids who never want to read because they feel inadequate reading to adults, but they love the chance to sit and read to Tempo. He loves it too!  He's considered a part of the faculty.  Couldn't be any more loved!  He may not have made it with CCI, but he's got the LIFE!!

2008 - update from Diesta on Tempo
Tempo has been such an amazing dog!  A couple of years ago, I left him with my Dad while I took a trip to Europe.  They bonded so closely that my Dad didn't want to be home when I picked him up.  I ended up giving Tempo to him, as he only lives a few minutes away.  The two have been best buddies ever since.  My father won't even go anywhere if he can't take him along.   Everyday he reports on what Tempo is doing and how smart he is.  He teaches him new "tricks" and sleeps next to him in storms.

Anyway, Tempo continues to be an awesome dog...and truly is offering his services!

Diesta is raising her 7th pup, Tempo was her first but her  kids still say none have compared to him.
